For a New Twist on Thai Cuisine, Try Nakorn

Mention Thai food, and everyone thinks of pad Thai, pad see ew, and spring rolls. Don’t get us wrong. They’re all great. However, there’s a restaurant in Evanston challenging the usual conventions of Thai cuisine. Its combination of classic flavors and modern touches have earned it rave reviews all over town. Yes, we’re talking about NaKorn!

New Twist, Same Great Flavors

For great Thai food with a twist, look no further than this unique restaurant located just a four-minute walk from The Park Evanston. NaKorn is a modern Thai restaurant with a variety of enticing dishes that will surprise and delight your taste buds.

There’s nothing more comforting on a cold winter’s evening than tucking into a savory and aromatic plate of braised pork ribs from NaKorn or delighting in the delicate flavors of a plate of pan-seared sea scallops.

How NaKorn Got Started

NaKorn was founded by Sam Rattanopus and Mina Sudsaard, who both hail from Bangkok.  They chose the name “NaKorn” for good reason. The word translates to “metropolitan,” an indicator of the kind of fare you can expect to find at this delightful restaurant.

Sam and Mina started their restaurant with the idea of bringing the traditional flavors of their childhood years to Evanston. Every dish is created lovingly, and the care taken comes across in the unique flavors of the dish.

Something For Everyone

From smoked whitefish to pan-roasted cauliflower steaks, there’s something on the menu for everyone, from the pickiest to the most adventurous eater. There are also a variety of vegetarian and gluten-free options. If you’re planning a trip to NaKorn (and we recommend it), we suggest bringing along some friends or a sweetheart.

Trust us: you’ll want to share everything you order. If you’re watching your budget in the new year, head to NaKorn on a Wednesday, when you can get a starter, an entrée, and dessert for only $30.
